Had I Known

Contributed by Dragons_Of_Rose on Tuesday, 19th October 2004 @ 01:12:28 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Had I known on this journey you'd turn into another dead end road
I would have saved myself the heartache, avoided watching us erode,
Escaped out the back door, dodged where life wanted us to be
Instead of feeding on the pretty lies and invisible broken dreams.

Had I known further down the way we'd end up where we are now
Two close friends who once were lovers but still managing somehow,
I would have fought off the feelings and hid my vulnerable heart
Because just friends is much easier than watching a world fall apart.

Had I known what the future held and what was around the bend
I would have let us go sooner instead of silently suffering till the end,
And now that I've realized these things I also know I took too long
So special thanks to me, my heart doesn't know where it belongs.

Very nice piece. These feelings you wrote down are easy to relate to and I think we've all went down that dead-end road at least once in our lives. But had you known all these things beforehand, you wouldn't have learned alot of things in life and you wouldn't have made new aquaintances, become stronger through each heartbreak, etc.Hold your head up high and I wish you much sunshine in your heart.God bless,
PumpkinPie

It made me cry. I'm speechless because I know exactly how you feel.
