darkness falls outside my window
day lights left my sight
i look out at the big pale moon shimmering in the night
the wild woods across the glen
Through the darkness fox i heard you calling.
wounded stumbling and falling
losing the hounds my prayers are with his freedom
a dream short lived
they are abound once more
teeth sharp and claws poisoned
through brambles and stream
heart beating a bad dream
strength fading as the night draws his weak breath
running hiding from death
a bristley red tail dyed black with mud
the sound of a gun
fox i heard you fall
before i end this poem i just want to tell you he is not yet dead!!!!

Woah! I am VERY impressed with this 10-year-old poet. Welcome to YPDC! What a story! Moving and well-told.
