Father Christmas
You go to the door and what you find,
another card that speaks the mind
Another card delievered here,
not just because the time of year
I paused a moment before i wrote,
of what im writing in this note
Another Christmas,another year,
in my mind though your not here
Down that road your always there,
that doesn't help or show you care
For family is christmas time,
though yours is not with me or mine
I'll pull that cracker,i may even smile,
i may even think of you for a while
where you are?Who your with?,
the only present you wont give
I'll draw it out in white christmas snow,
those three words you just cant show
And those words you always say,
All My Love on christmas day...

A bittersweet longing that resonates through millenia of difficult relationships bw daughters and dads. So much yearning for connection! I really felt this one. Christmas can be the most painful time of the year.
The last four lines are a knockout. You know, if you tighened it up a little, its a song, a real tearjerker.
