There is a man who loves you
More than life or worldly gain.
Who wants so much to worship you,
If you’d only call his name.
Who once was in your graces,
But fell so hard and fast,
That nothing he ever did for you
Would let your sweet love last.
There is a man who’s sentenced
For the rest of his pitiful life,
To live a lonely loveless void,
With only pain and strife.
There is a man who has touched the sky
Through the grandeur of your love.
Then crashing back to Earth he fell,
And died from your little shove.
But balance was never a problem.
He could have held on tight.
And tried to be more patient.
But now he lives outside the light.
There is a man who’d always be,
So patient, loving, and kind,
If you would reach and lift him up,
From his tortured, dying mind.
