She stood,
alone or so it seemed.
A world of faces staring up at her.
Some her enemies,
some her friends,
yet all the same.
Alone,
in a world against her.
A world of darkness,
yet,
she stood.
She stood up for the truth,
she cared for those around her,
and was willing to do almost anything to tell her friends the truth.
He sat and stared,
he was no better than the rest,
he couldn’t stand up for the truth,
he was afraid,
afraid of being alone.
Some laughed at her,
some thought she must be brave,
he admired her courage,
he felt ashamed.
The two,
worlds apart,
the same truth,
courage and cowardlyness,
or so it seemed.
In truth,
she had felt afraid,
yet,
she wasn’t alone,
someone was standing beside her,
the someone to whom she had trusted her life,
Jesus.
