I heard the tiny unborn heartbeat.
I felt the movement of the eager
child inside me.
I saw the tiny legs kicking.
I saw the innocent eyes begining
to form.
I saw the tiny arms waving;
as if to say "hello."
I felt the tears roll down my cheek.
Tears of joy and pure amazement.
Filled with excitement,
eager anticipation,
and pure love;
I've come to realize,
I'm not going to be a mother...
I am already.

Me and my husband were both crying when we had our ultrasound... It makes it all real you know? My baby is two months old now. I liked your poem a lot, thanks for sharing it! |
