And the Talking Stopped

Contributed by ginsdance on Saturday, 16th November 2002 @ 04:40:00 AM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

And the talking stopped.
Heartbreaking silence ensued
And tore their hearts apart.
In love, yet so far away,
The best of friends...
Could not bridge that silence of pain
Threatening to tear them apart.
And then the teardrops fell.
Coursing so slowly down her cheeks,
Wrenched individually
From her heart's longing reach.
And then beaten deep into the ground
By her flailing fists that had flung them from her face,
Then pain so deep inside her heart that friendship was efacced.
And then he crossed to her.
Grabbing her still wet hand,
Soaked by salty tear drops,
He tried to offer comfort,
Yet she flung it far away.
Angry now, at herself, the situation,
She crosses to her own car,
Just wants to be alone,
And then he catches her,
Makes her look at him,
And then he held her.
Worlds slid back into orbit,
All slammed back into regal order,
And the talking stopped.
