S.A.D.D

Topic: StoryPoetry

The windshield blocks my view tonight
while driving in this car
Splattered with mud and one tree branch
I know I didn't go far
The lights around me; they surround me
Those people with out-stretched faces
They scream a thousand horrid screams
from a hundred thousand places
They gasp and wonder what went wrong
When all I did was drink
So tired, so weary from one place to the next
The night has worn me weak
And now it hold's me in it's grasp
as the stars have come around
The blanketed night time of closed eyelids
The quieted silent sound
Feeling numb I need to feel me
but my hands unable to feel
Trying to say what I know I can't
Those words I try to steal
Blurry spots of red
on a shirt of pocketed white
Tells me that I'm dead
as I'm sent away tonight
Sometimes you can't stop it
The choices that you make
Sometimes it's others who set you up
and put your life at stake
