Hope is Slipping

Contributed by essentially9 on Sunday, 17th October 2004 @ 09:09:38 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Hope is Slipping

From the flames
With remade dreams
Life begins for me

Broken promises
Now seem nonexistent
To me as does everything

No longer blood tinted
With this sin of giving in
To bleed to live

Taking a step at a time
Through life
Knowing it will pass me by

Running away to the future
Hoping to make it through
But a better future isn't for sure

Even with nothing to give
I saved myself to live
Hoping to not slip again

Pretty sad. But there is hope, for a time I thought there was no hope for me, but I got changed. There is hope for us all. It's God. He can give you hope.

I can relate to that. Often for me it takes me getting tired of being sad before I can feel joy again. That is usually better said than done.

Hey, we've all been there before. Hope never slips, it's us that does the slipping. Hope is always there, it's just harder for us to see it in the dark. Remember that and you will be OK. Oh yeah... Sorry, great poem. Very well written. Full of emotion.

I can relate to this. We all step away from the path at one time or another. It is among the greatest blessings that we can begin over and move forward with hope for different and better.
