Fallin'

Contributed by FiggySue on Sunday, 17th October 2004 @ 02:15:35 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Still bitter from past heartaches, disappointments and broken dreams.
Pretending to the world, to you, to me, that nothing is what it seems.
The moments in my day when you stop my breath with your eyes.
I cover up my feelings, base each kiss on past lover's lies.
Those few seconds that slip by, as I desperatly fight to gain control.
Those few seconds, you unknowingly have my heart, my soul.
Unsure of where to run, when your tender kiss sweeps me away.
Yet too afraid to just let the moment play.
Listening carefully to each promise, longing to believe.
That your world is one I'll never be asked to leave.
Pretending not to feel the stabs, that come with each goodbye.
Holding back the forbidden truth, I let go of a silent sigh.
Another night has passed, another oppurtunity gone.
As I drift to sleep, I imagine us together as time continues on.
Reliving the moments, when I felt your soul, your dream, all your secrets as my own.
Longing to tell you everything, so afraid you too will leave me all alone.
I know this feeling, I've been here before, my heart has felt the calling.
It's too late to turn back now, For I've already......
FALLIN'

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
