Shallow Faces From Darker Places

I see you from my corner, but I never approach,
The sin of a shallow face, I will never know,
In your world I don't meet your standards,
In my world, I've already had you - several times,
What I look like, what you look like,
All I've had, but whom I really want - hasn't,
I can feel you staring at the back of my head,
Perhaps wondering how great it would be,
How great it would be, to fill your shallow,
Places for shallow faces don't exist - for me,
Why must everyday be such a challenge,
To hide what you feel - what I feel,
Your public image, your self denial,
Would the world fold in on itself if we became?
Im so dark, you're so light - maybe it would.
