Some people do anything just to be free
Like skydive off of Yosemite
Even though it was against the rules
You did it anyways
Then like lightning you ran away from the rangers
And tried to swim to safety
But in that trying moment
The current overtook
And in that timeless moment
You were gone forever
Leaving us behind
I know I didn't know you
But that isn't the point
The memory I learned of you is one that makes me smile
I look at the poster on my wall of you
And I think
You lost your life doing something you loved
And trying to escape to stay free
