Alluring Bait

Contributed by Carrie on Thursday, 18th July 2002 @ 01:31:04 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

The test is daunting,
and I always fail
to let go of the notion
that love will prevail.

Life gives alluring bait
of utter bliss,
a perfect picture
sealed with a kiss.

I reach to take it
and hold it dear.
Perception declines
when it’s so near.

From that moment on
the quizzical scheme
is that everything changes
from what it seemed.

The heart is tarnished
from simple use
but still awakens
to recognize the ruse.

We love again
despite the net
that eagerly falls on us
and yet…

Why take such risk
when darkness waits?
Why battle your way
through the salty rains?
Why face the desert
of empty dreams?

Love gives alluring bait
of utter bliss,
a perfect picture
sealed with a kiss.

Love does give us some false hopes sometimes and can make things look so easy when in fact they are the total opposite. But in the end it's all worth it...great write.

This is great
Antisipation is wonderful.....the reality we soon get used to...........untill we have lost it.........and antisipate it's return
If this makes sense?

Good write
