Days go by,
driving on longer highways
and retraveled byways
leading me home.
Driving into the sunset
it's been so long since I've felt this way
the breeze from the open car
the pull of the grass,
the life in sway,
and on this open road,
I'm heading home.
No longer afraid
of what lies ahead,
pedal to the metal
songs in my head
music blaring to keep me concious
keep me focused on my destination,
somewhere down this road,
is where I belong,
somewhere down this road,
is home.
This life blows by,
day by day,
as I drive home,
on this empty highway.

Hello CodyJ, this is old grandma, 'Bizzy.' Bizzy is usually busy. Ha! I liked your poem, Road Trip. It describes a feeling that is very human and it has a spiritual parralell meaning. Did you mean for that to happen? I plan to read your poetry again sometime. Blessings to you. |
