Years of Yesterdays

Contributed by jeannoh on Saturday, 16th October 2004 @ 12:47:15 AM in AEST
Topic: Nostalgic

I remember the years of yesterdays,
I was wild and carefree too,
yet just turned around for a moment ,
saw me here older listening to you .

I remember the years of yesterdays,
all the things the future held for me,
closed my eyes just a couple of seconds.
caught the stare that you threw to me.

Sometimes our dreams don't come true ,
when we're young, yes we were once too,
faded pictures is all that we have ,
to remind us of days we were young.

I remember the years of yesterdays,
all the boys that i caught their eyes,
oh the time passed so slowly then,
now it's us just remembering when .

I remember the years of yesterdays ,
all my friends, my interest, and games.,
never knowing that if I closed my eyes,
I would not believe how quickly they go by .

Sometimes our dreams don't come true ,
when we're young, yes we were once too ,
faded pictures is all that we have ,
to remind us of days we were young ..

I remember years of yesterdays ,
yes for ever will remain in my mind ,
if there was a way to recapture those moments,
I'd find warmth in the world that is mine.

Sometimes our dreams don't come true ,..
when we're young, yes we were once too ,
cherished pictures we'll keep here forever,
I've had my time and this time is for you.

So beautiful... Reminds me of my poem 'Within The Wind' which I've posted here along time ago. This poem brings me back to the days when I was younger. Though I'm only 20, I feel old already... I wish I still could be in my teens sometimes. Great nostalgic poetry.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
