Topic: LostLove

There's history between us longer than I'd care to admit
And since we've went our separate ways
There's not one thought that doesn't have you in it
I moved away thought maybe that would help me heal
Thought maybe the ache in my heart would soon subside
And the memories would begin to fade
Somehow it would all just become a little less real
I didn't ever change my number in case you decided to call
One last ember of hope I kept alive secretly
Because maybe, just maybe, you'd decide I'm what you needed and wanted after all

Hope, a double edged sword, I know it well. It both keeps us going and cuts us to the core the longer it is unfulfilled. Sweet and honest I liked it and can relate.

Good Write.

I really like ur poem, and I know exactly what you felt when you wrote this. Thats still how I feel sometimes. Me and my ex haven't been together for over two months but I still hope sometimes that he'll just call me one day to tell me he still cares about me, or to make me feel like life was perfect again...but that never seems to happen. Great Poem
