I watched you weaken steadily
As I stood by day to day
The sequence of events
Within my mind will always play-
I watched the boyfriends come and go
Once Daddy left for good
I watched my brother lose his mind
Like no kid ever should-
The lonely times were bearable
The hunger.....not so bad
But watching you try suicide
Now that made me really sad-
Not once or twice, or four of five
But seven times the same
And any love I had for you
Died when social service came-
I hate you cause you sat there
And simply watched us pack our stuff
When I went to say I love you
You turned and took a puff-
I never could forget
That crushing look upon your face
Because of you I'm stuck
Five years later in this place-
I don't know where you are
For you never write or call
I wonder if you miss us
Or think of us at all-
Your little girl is grown now
Your little boy is on his way
Dominics' son is nearly four
Still we have no mother to this day-
I hope that you are happy
I raised myself up perfectly
So don't worry bout coming back
Cause my mother you'll NEVER be!!!!

This was a very good write, so sad. My heart goes out to you and I'm glad you have grown up strong. Stay that way! Please learn from all of this and be positive. I lost my Mother to cancer when I was 18. I can't imagine having lost my Mom the way you did. Glad you use poetry as an outlet. Write on! Much peace. |

I lost my mom a couple of years ago and I could only imagine never having one in your life. I am a 60 year old man and it brought a tear to my eye just wanted to say i loved it. |
