The world is dying

Contributed by Gimpie on Friday, 15th October 2004 @ 09:47:14 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Little Jonny's in a corner crying from his fear,
A man is standing in a kitchen who's had too many beers,
A woman takes the pain who is lost as what to do,
The neighbor just ignores the noise....oh if he only knew.

Susan sits inside a car and watches lights go round,
Jason feels the pressure lying handcuffed on the ground,
She didn't know what happened she was lying in her bed,
Her mom is in hers too....with a bullet in her head.

A family stands outside their home and watches a fire blaze,
Mom is quite histericle and Dad is in a daze,
Tommy played with matches cause he thought it would be fun,
Now the house is ashes...his 8 year life is done.

Right now the world is dying and everywhere there is decay,
Look around you'll see within the streets the bodies lay,
The world is coming to an end so be there at the brink,
Don't get left behind or within the flames you'll sink.

Wow very moving and sadly so true. Sometimes I think humanity has gone stark raving mad. We could all use a little peace and kindness man, take care.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
