Don't Play Cards With The Devil

Contributed by deadreckoning1983 on Friday, 15th October 2004 @ 06:04:34 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I am the Jack,
And you are the Spade.
Dancing in line with the bluff,
We flirt into the night.
Burying deep between my ribs,
The spade rings true against the bone.
It only took a second,
But you planted your seed of despair.
Somberly and soberly I stitch my heart back,
Like an apple hanging from the branch.
Rotten, and devoured by the raven.
His black wings of love rush into the wind,
It's ironic here, that I would use the raven.
Hollow bones, hollow love.
This should hold meaning for you Jen.
Pecking away into my heart,
Taking what you could and leaving.
Thankfully there are four of me,
Suited for the task.
Find your cold wind again and let me be.

Very stark and powerful.
You do disillusionment
very well. I hope these jag-offs
will start reading your freakin poems.

Maybe you should use a
sexual title, thay always go for
that. What a god damn shame.
Here is a masterpiece,
well thought out and
brilliantly executed.
It deserves to be read on the
merit of being one of yours.

At least Jen doesn't have to wonder if this poem is about her... :) For a brief moment I thought you'd suffered an identity crisis, and thought yourself a Gemini. Then the light turned on and I realized, the cards! The cards! Four of you...Of course. How cleverly written.
