I Have Laughed & I Have Cried

Contributed by pixie on Friday, 15th October 2004 @ 11:56:19 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I have laughed & I have cried,
I have lived & I have died,
I have felt like I couldn’t carry on,
I have lost my hearts love song.

My soul has been before broke in two,
I have both loved & hated you,
I have sobbed until my heart cracked,
I felt my frail body deteriorate & snap.

My smile has been overcast by fear,
I have longed to hold you near,
Once I pushed you far, far away
Didn’t want to see the light of the day.

I have cried a lovely river,
I have felt my insides wither,
My love has made me strong & weak,
Have felt so frightened I could not speak.

Hate & love are both my extremes,
They both often come from me in reams,
One minute I hate & then I love,
I can be a raven or a beautiful dove.

I have laughed & I have wept,
Felt for years I have not slept,
I feel peace, in the same breath rage,
Feel so free yet locked in life’s cage.

Great write. Neat rhyming and good flow. I really enjoyed reading this, as I am sure plenty of others will. Nice work as usual, Pixie :)

Krissie this is amazing. Though you have wrote about something so sad, it is from your heart which is where the best poetry comes from. This poem had me gripped to the very end and your right we are locked in life's cage. But keep your chin up your a wonder person and an excellent writter!
*hugs you*
love
