would I be too honest
if I said you don't care?
27 years added to the blood that we share
I'm slowly dying inside
but somehow you don't see
through a veil of lies
I'm begging you to stop me
would I be too honest
if I said you're in denial?
27 years, but I'm still your child
you dismiss my subtle cries
and hints of honesty
better to turn away
than see your fears inside of me
would I be too honest
if I said you don't know me?
27 years is too high a fee
each time i try again
to let you glimpse inside
I fall a little deeper
without a sense of pride
I know I'm being too honest
still you'll never understand
your walls are too high
to ever see where I stand
I'm worn and broken
done asking for help
instead I'll buy you a mirror
maybe you can look at yourself
