There’s a shadow moving over the world
Tucking children in to bed at night
And kissing the cheeks of lovers in a park.
When this shadow wind blows through the world
It gives everyone a terrible chill.
And makes them hug themselves closer
And run from the outside early winter cold.
Retreating into their warm and cozy homes
The huddle by the fire
Wondering why there is such an awful cold outside.
It is not winter yet, and the freezing cold should not come for a while.
This shadow came from nowhere
And chills the hearts of many.
No one knows where it came from
But it will freeze the world before it leaves.
