Remind me

Contributed by Archie on Wednesday, 13th October 2004 @ 04:35:51 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

This is a christain song I wrote in 1985 about needing to remember how much of a bad person I was before I became a christain. Sometimes you can't make progress on your journey with out looking back at your past. This song entails the heart of that. My hope is that we will not repeat the mistakes of our past but grow and mature into people who have an awesome future awaiting us because of the lessons we have learned. I wrote a second verse for this song in 1993 that I will add at a later time.

(Chorus)
Remind me dear Lord
Remind me dear Lord
Remind me of times gone past
Remind me so that I may not fall

(Repeat chorus)

Remind me of temptation
and how many times I fell before
Remind me of salvation
my only way to life

Won''t you please
(Chorus)

I have been through hard times
that I would not want to see again
but if I had to do it again
for the glory of the Lord
I would
I have been through hard times
I have seen many people fall
I have heard of so much crime
That''s why I''m asking you lord

Won''t you please
(Chorus)

(Chorus)

Please remind me Lord (8 times then end)

This is right on the nose! I would say that we often can't make progress without remembering. It's like the saying "those who fail to remember the past are condemned to repeat it." It's only when we look back that we can see how far the Lord has taken us and feel the gratitude and strength to keep looking ahead. Great stuff!

I agree, a wonderful write,
but especially since you've
found so much meaning
and faith in your life.
