Its unfortunate there are those unknown
Of the thin line between life and death
Walk beside the grim reaper hand in hand
Come with me my friend
Obey and follow wanting more
Can't recognize the terrain as the light fades
Hand grasp becomes strong as resistance is felt
Don't worry follow me to happiness
Horrified emotions take control
Begin to suffer, can't break free
I want out now
Come with me my dear I will show you the way
Bones break, blood is shed, can't release
Almost there, wouldn’t be long now
Darkness takes over, pitch black
Light remains once more to guide the way
Not to home, or happiness
Only to the grave marked with R.I.P.

| A VERY HAUNTING poem indeed. This poem has a very mysterious tone and it's so different from other genre of poetry. You're a very creative writer and I admire you for that :-) |

I think every drug addict realises they have a problem, its just realising that they're in denial about its severity that has them prop up so many daisies. In my opinion.
I wasn't sure about the personalisation of 'I want out now' - I think you could have italicised this, but since its one of your first posts, I'm assuming you don't know how. Also, I was put out by having darkness 'take over', only for 'light remains once more'. That doesn't make much sense to me.
For what that's worth, anyway, that's a comment- welcome to YPDC, Keep on writing and I may catch another of your poems sometime. |
