Dead Reckoning

Contributed by Nazmythian on Tuesday, 12th October 2004 @ 06:13:02 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

What’s it gonna matter
If the world’s still turning when I die
What if I took someone with me
Jacked them up then made them fly
Thirteen stories ain’t that tall
Still, it’s a detrimental fall
And how can I show you emotion
Tears aren’t shed from dry dead eyes

Waiting in the rain
I thought the pain would wash away by now
Promises of love
Are simply methods of control somehow
Razored fingers held my heart
As voices laughed, it fell apart
Tumbling through the cracks and seams
Beside a ring of sacred vow

Blanketed in shadowed darkness
On the roof, we stand above
Retribution will come swiftly
Brought on by a single shove
Scream out loud as people gawk
Descend upon them like a rock
Tell me as we’re falling dear
What you think now about my love

Naz,

You seem to have a flair for the melodramatic and there is an intenseness and provacative quality. Again the power of your words......

There is an emotional connection...

Captivating, haunting and enthralling till the very end! The thrill ride of the century! This one slaps you hard in the face, and pulls at your emotions. I love it!!

Blanketed in shadowed darkness
On the roof, we stand above
Retribution will come swiftly
Brought on by a single shove
Scream out loud as people gawk
Descend upon them like a rock
Tell me as we’re falling dear
What you think now about my love...

Serves me right for not
writing the idea I had for
a poem of the same name.

I'm sure he will like it.
It rocks.
