I'VE CLIMBED LIFE'S MOUNTAINS

Contributed by lovingcritters on Tuesday, 12th October 2004 @ 02:37:16 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

"I'VE CLIMBED LIFE'S MOUNTAINS"

My climb is not like any other, my very own
Climbed each mountain n'er alone!
Fought each battle courageously,
Bowed my head to defeat in the valley.......

And--Oh My God only You know........
Those I've lost climbing--I loved so!!!
I've learned acceptance gracefully.
Sword in my hand, struggling fight to safety!

Careening toward Life's Mountains serene,
Had to learn how to be mean!!!
Then forget it again, and come clean.
Heart, mind, soul, and self-esteem.

Windblown, thrown down, tears enough to drown.
Drained of my life source, bordering mental breakdown!
Emotional pain, guts spilled upon sacrifical altar.
Close to death--discouraged, suicidal climber!

Many a precipice I walked with much fear.....
One slip, treacherous ragged rocks below severe!!!
Backpack filled with integrity's load.
Cramped, narrow, straight forward road!

He was my mountain climbing rope.....
Caught me whenever I fell, my safety cincher.
'Twas because of Him I continued on with Hope!
Without pressure, with His balance, kind prodder.

To place faith in Him I had to diligently learn.....
His strength, His guidance, His word discern.
Climbing Life's Mountains without Him, I can't imagine!
My friend, my companion, my comforter, my guardsman.

These are the most beautifu lines yet read by you Connie.
Yes we all climb a mountain.
St. John of the cross speaks of the "ASCENT"
We make it with HIM there is no doubt hHe will sustain us at all times, caring so much for his children.

I love the verse from Hebrews:

"Faith is the assurred expection of things hoped for;
the evident demonstation of realities though not beheld"
Hebrews 11:1 (Bible)

Thanks for sharing this inspring poem Consue
Hugs and Love
Elizabeth
