You got flowers today...
It wasn't your birthday...
It wasn't your anniversary...
It wasn't any special occasion...
For some dumb reason we all gave you flowers today...
You lied to me...
You said, " you were a coward..."
You said, "you could never take your own life..."
But sister you grew balls...
You got flowers today...
You told him the truth...
You said you'd kill yourself...
If you ever lost him...
So now you're gone...
You got flowers today...
You told me so many things...
You shared secrets with me...
You believed in me...
But yet you had no faith in yourself...
You got flowers today...
Now you're nothing more than ashes on the grate...
You've gone to a place unknown...
So God if you happen to see my sister walk by...
Tell her she was wrong...
You got flowers today...
All because you choose to selfishly go away...
We cried... We pleaded... We begged...
But still you choose not to stay...
You're crazy... If you think were better off this way...
You got flowers today...
So now I sit alone...
Wondering what you were thinking...
Wondering what you thought you were lacking...
I miss you so much... I love you still...
You got flowers today...
There was so much left unsaid...
So much we were supposed to do...
So many questions left unanswered...
Now there's only my tears left to dry...
You got flowers today...
I know you'd always said you wanted a flower garden...
You didn't have to kill yourself just to get a bouquet...
Didn't you realize how much you'd hurt us?
Do you even care?
You got flowers today...
You got flowers of death...
Flowers of tears...
Flowers of sadness...
Flowers of anger...
But at least you got you're STUPID flowers today...

OMG this is so sad, I am so sorry for your loss, my biological mother commited suicide... I think you are brave for sharing this as it must be so painful for you and thes rest of your family *hugs*

| it's amazing how strong you are to write this and to share it. I really felt moved because nothing seems forced, everything is a natural feeling that you have acquired from your loss. |

I am so sorry for your loss. It must be hard to deal with this. This was a very painful and angry write, it can be felt in your words. It was a good write, I can feel it. And isn't that what poetry is all about, getting the reader to feel your emotions? You did very well in that respect. Write on and I'll be looking forward to reading.:o)

| OMG, reading that outloud brought tears to my eyes. I'm sooo sorry for you. I don't know of anyone personally who committed suicide, but I can imagine what you're going through....Its a really great write. |

When I wrote that comment over 4 years ago, like I said, never knew anyone. Last year, a really good friend of mine committed suicide. I now completely understand what you're going through. I feel you, and I understand.
That's all I can really say..I guess I just kind of wanted you to know.
Stay strong girl. I'm trying my best to. I know it's hard. |
