You Kept It All Concealed

You've helped me through so much,
But I never really thanked you.
Still you were there for me whenever I needed you and still you went on with me.

Every time I was lonely or upset,
Your presence brightened my mood
And your smile touched my soul.

Your reassuring statements in my times of distress and despair
Were greatly appreciated.
But you never knew that.

Whenever I was in or near tears,
You would hold me in your arms and tell me that everything would be all right,
Calming me immediately.

Your kisses-
They were so soft and sweet.
Always perfect.

You were always by my side,
Listening to my now very minor problems.
(But they did not seem minor to me then.)

You completely forgot about your own problems just trying to make me happy.
And you know what? You always succeeded.
But you never knew that and I never listened to your problems.

You are perfect. Perfect.
But I never told you that.
We've been through so much, and I love you for all of it.

I love you for everything you did and do.
But please don't say you love me in return,
For you deserve so much more and so much better than what I could ever give you.
