Storm

Contributed by pixie on Monday, 11th October 2004 @ 03:07:23 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Inside I can feel a storm brewing,
Through my calmness it is chewing,
I battle to hold this temper of mine,
I want to let my happiness shine.

Anger eats away at my insides,
There’s only so long it can hide,
Before it rips through me like a wave,
Leaving me in a watery grave.

Inside me I carry a storm,
In pure anger it takes its form,
Searing & burning all in its path,
In my face it turns & it laughs.

I long to keep my temper calm,
I know of all the deep cutting harm,
That it leaves behind in its wake,
Anything it can see it will take.

To live with anger is all I know,
Through my life it always flows,
It burns like a ball of fire within,
To have so much anger is a deadly sin.

My battle will go on as will my life,
Anger will be apparent & will be rife,
I am pregnant with fire & with hate,
You can’t see it, but it lays in wait.

A great one Pixie, I really loved it, the way you described that struggle between you and the storm and rage, very beautifuly written, and the words are very emotional, and the best thing in the poem (in my point of view) is that weired fascinating finale "I am pregnant with fire & with hate, You can’t see it, but it lays in wait", I loved it.

I like your metaphor. It used to seem like when I was really mad, the weather outside would agree with me. There's not too much for me to get mad about these days. Hope you win your battle!
Cheers!

A passionate poem, showing strength and a strong will thats willing to fight, you have many traits, and I know you will beat this, in you I have faith, even though I havent known you long, yet I feel the power in your words, and see the images raging in your words, you will oneday quench the anger, of that I am sure, beautifully written Pixie, take care always, and if you ever need to chat just drop me line.
