The Spiders Web

I watched a spider slowly crawl-
up and down my bedroom wall...
And to me there seemed to be no end-
to the web he tried to mend...
All at once appeared this little fly-
to which the spider began to lie...
“If some time you have to spare-
your help I could use on this repair”...
So the fly having not a clue-
as to what the spider was about to do...
Said that he would really like to stay-
and maybe afterwards they could play...
The fly knew that something was not right-
when upon the spiders web he did light...
And as he struggled to set himself free-
caught in the trap another fly he did see...
