ME AND MY SHADOW

Contributed by chereid on Sunday, 10th October 2004 @ 08:09:42 PM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

At the break of dawn,
He comes calling every morn,
“Che! Che! It’s time to play!”
Let’s ride your bike and scooter today.
Brush your teeth and have your tea,
Then we’ll ask Aunty to take us to the sea.
When we get back, we’ll bathe in the pool,
Have some more fun and play the fool.
After that, a game of football,
Is what we’ll play before Aunty’s call.
“It’s time for lunch, boys!
Please put away all your toys!”

My shadow follows me everywhere I go,
I hate it but I don’t let it show.
He is only five
And lucky to be alive,
Me… soon I will be eight…
So I get up and open the gate!
