Every breath, Every heartbeat

I sit in the cold, dark night
and think to myself...
will anyone love me the way I love them?
will I ever have the chance to experience love at its best?
the thoughts run through my head
and tears fall down my cheeks
with every breath, and every heart beat,
I wish to myself that one day someone will love me
but wishes are useless to me, for they never come true...
because if they did...i'd have someone to love like you.

Hmm, I think you are being too hard on yourself on both accounts. |

Your handle interested me, so I looked, regardless of the poem title.
I'll say this poem connected with me, on a personal level, with the final line. You had me misreading it, and perhaps unconsciously so, which is amusing me now, I must say.
Do you think that's 'cheesy'? |
