Go or Stay

Contributed by Irish on Sunday, 10th October 2004 @ 12:43:27 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

What the heck,
Is wrong with my life,
Constantly filled,
With so much strife.

Maybe life,
Is trying to teach,
Why all I long for,
Is beyong my reach.

Ones I love,
Are so far away,
Many engaged,
So alone I stay.

Why can't I find,
The love I seek,
The pain of rejection,
Is making me weak.

I cannot handle,
The anguish and stress,
Slowly, steadily,
It makes me regress,

To a time,
I wished to die,
So I think,
As in bed I lie,

"Who would mourn,
And who would grieve,
If this world,
I decide to leave,

For a razor blade,
Is all I need,
To slit my wrist,
And begin to bleed."

The fire inside me,
Begins to fade,
My heart is irational,
And hard to persuade.

So as my eyes turn,
From blue to gray,
I still debate:
"Shall I go, or stay?"

You should stay. I had to talk my friend out of killing herself last night. SHe has a 5 and 7 year old and she slit her wrists. We got the bleeding to stop. But then she took a bunch of pills. It was disturbing because her kids heard the whole thing. I am scared for everyone who has thoughts of suicide. I love people and hate to see them hurting. I hope you seriously aren't considering. If you want to talk message me. I have the same feelings every day. The only thing that gets me by is my 7 week old baby. Your poem really touched me that is why I am going on and on. Sorry if I got to personal, but I really was moved.

I know that people would care if you were not around. Why? Because you have a good heart, and that is a rare thing nowadays. I enjoy your writing, and I, for one, should hope that you choose to stay. Many people, I think, (well at least I have) do not feel appreciated enough. Although often times true, don't let other people's mistakes squelch your heart's fire. But, I have faith in you because I can tell you are strong...strong enough to actually realize what it is doing to you. Strong enough to survive, because sometimes Survival Is Progress.
