Daddy's little girl ..the drink or me

Contributed by emocutie07 on Saturday, 9th October 2004 @ 04:36:56 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I couldn't make you choose, afraid of your choice.
I'd give anything just to hear your voice
No more slurrs and drunken goodbyes
Just a glimpse of my father unveiled by the lies
Hurt clenched at my heart, when you'd walk away
Can't even look at me...am I the one to blame?
It wasn't always this way,
Sitting on your lap I was daddy's little girl, ready for anything we could take on the world
But everythings changed, not a moment the same
To get your attention I would fall to my knees, take the blood from these gaping wounds and write those three unspoken words at your feet,
Even then chances are you couldn't see far to taken by your intoxicity...but just in case...I love you daddy

This is so sad, I'm sorry you're going through this, but it's not your fault! :[

you said you wanted to see him unveiled correct? do you really want to though, being the way your father is, an alchoholic, he would probably fair worse sober than drunk. people drink like that for a reason, i know i did. usually depression and whatnot, i am sorry to hear about your situatiopn though and hope things start looking up for you, crystal. i loved the poem and the concept, great write!!!!! oh and take care of mason, ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! peace and love,
