rose petals

Contributed by wyrd_faerie on Saturday, 9th October 2004 @ 02:03:22 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

We breathe
Hands, mouths, eyelash kisses
A tangle of arms and legs, so messy, so beautiful
And we are so close, we blur where I end, where you begin
Daylight pours, lights the air between us we strive to drown
Melt into darkness, melt into one
Until there’s hardly any sun at all

The way we could talk
Hours fade into nothing
Time stood still, when you touched me
That infinite moment…that eternal feeling
And words would disappear
Until, in the end, there was nothing between us at all

We stood
Side by side, hand in hand
I could watch the rain fall, drip from your eyelashes
Like the tears that I needed to cry
Warmth slowly blew away
Hearts, blue
I stood shivering
And you didn’t notice at all

And the way your eyes look at me, now
It makes me want to pick rose petals
Bite them, chew them, swallow them one by one
Consume the beauty so wholly it becomes a part of myself
Destroy it with every fibre of my being
Until it’s not even there at all

(tears rip my eyes to shreds)
(my hands feel lonely, with nothing to hold)
(love turned to lust, turned to dust)
(I breathe)

(and I am nothing without you)
(I am nothing at all)

god . . .

I'm going to comment on this again as soon as I can bring myself to read it. The emotions you stirred don't much want to be stirred at the moment and so I won't comment now; i can't.

Wow. This was so vividly beautiful and mournful at the same time.
How sad, but I know exactly what you mean.
This was so well written.
Bravo!

Sad and beautiful are the words that come to mind. Raining with emotion, thundering with pain. Wonderful write!

Oh God... I think this is one of my favourites
by you Lucie. This was just so... perfect and
awe inspiring.
"I could watch the rain fall, drip from your eyelashes
Like the tears that I needed to cry"

and

"Bite them, chew them, swallow them one by one
Consume the beauty so wholly it becomes a part of myself"

Wow the imagery and the depth of feeling
conveyed in those two parts just tore me
apart. I'm in complete awe and wishing I
could write again... even though it would pale
next to this. This was so beautiful nothing I
can say can do this justice.
