The Cold

A wisp of wind blew through the trees and
upward toward the sky.
December chills bit frosty paths
across my nose and eyes.
My breath came fast within my chest.
My cheeks were red as flame.
My feet and hands were bundled up
against this awful bane.
What will I do in later days
if this is what's in store?
I think that I will reflect upon
the heat forevermore!
