My Dark Thoughts

I always think that because of my depression,
Your love for me will soon begin to lessen,
That you will turn your back on me in time,
Leave me alone to try & make sense of the rhymes.
I am haunted daily by thoughts of paranoia,
They are indeed my minds destroyer,
Hacking away at my total trust in you,
Leave me feeling like I’ve just been walked through.
My mind starts to listen to the voices,
They don’t really leave it with much of a choice,
Doubt flows around when I’m left on my own,
It doesn’t give in until everything’s been blown.
I dream of being free from all these thoughts,
To not be a contender in my mind’s blood sport,
I am constantly looking over my shoulder,
Fearful of being crushed by paranoia’s boulder.
If I am ever without you in the still of the night,
I become filled with anxiety & fright,
You’re sound asleep at home in your bed,
Here I lay with all this pain swimming in my head.
A minute seems to go by like an hour,
All the petals have dropped off my flower,
My heart takes a nose dive into my shoes,
I lay there in a state of fear, feeling very confused.

Depression is extremely hard to over come, facing it makes it easier to fix. thats one of the beauties in writing. excellent poem.

| This is a great disciption of what it is like to go through depression. I hope you get through it and if it takes poems like these to do so that is okay. Great write |
