What's that...in the night?
What's that, lurking down the stairs?
Dressing in the gown of night
About which no insomniac cares
Aching for the healing light
What's that, scratching at the door?
Hiding in the cape of dark
About which none dreams no more
Striking for a soothing spark
When the sky's no longer red
When the watchdog has been fed
When your prayers have been said
This invader gets your head
When the Moon and stars collide
When your reason steps aside
When your fear takes off your pride
When I'll take you for a ride
It's a rocket to the past
All the years come back so fast
And this time I'm sure theyy'll last
Since it's you to which they're cast
It is me who tears your soul
Makes you drink out of life's bowl
Since it is my holy goal
To return you as a whole
Who's that, lurking down your stairs?
Groaning under this hard task
About whom no insomniac cares
Ready to rip off your mask
Who's that, scratching at your door?
Entering without a key
About whom none dreams no more
It's the truth that sets your free

Wow!! I liked this. I percieve this to be one's conscience taking over. Might be wrong, but that's how I read it. Very strong and powerful write. Kudos, Hur!

I especially love these two lines. Nice use of words.

predictable, but with a swooping flair of originality... almost sounds like, "mirror, mirror on the wall..." i like it!!

Excellent! I love the way truth is portrayed here. You tend to write poetry that is after my own heart, Hur. I enjoy it much.
And the flow and metre of this piece was impeccable. Well done!
