alone (help me)

Contributed by Cancer on Thursday, 7th October 2004 @ 10:54:40 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

my hands are achingly empty
(they should be holding others
others like them)
clutching only the lonely dust
of a broken something
that i've forgotten

painful "remember whens"?
shared with myself
no one left
to hear these broken words
these words that just turn into tears
these tears that just leave me
a little more empty
than i was before

(as long as i can hear the tears
softly slap the floor
i'm ok
because i know i'm still alive
but i fear the day
when my eyes finally dry
for with no tears
and no one left
to validate my existence
there will be no reassurance
that i'm even real at all)

the darkness coils tighter
the circle of soft light grows smaller
and from every rounded corner
i can hear the heavy breathing
of the madness that never really left

if you can still hear me
(and, god, i hope you can)
i really need you now
(feels like i'm drifting)
don't let go, please
(drowning)
help me
(alone)

hello?

...hello?

Wow, this was great. It was a story hidden under a desperation of thoughts. Loneliness is the worst suffering of mankind. Wonderful and emotional. Nicely done,
~Carrie~

Roy you never cease to amaze me. I don't
know what to say about this poem its just so...
there are no words to describe it.
"i can hear the heavy breathing
of the madness that never really left"
This whole poem was just brilliance and
those two lines... wow... *hands him a cookie*

oh, this is so, deeply, wonderful. makes me want to curl up and cry and cry and cry, wipe your tears away. the last stanza, and third to last, they are so gorgeous. reminds me of thoughts that just float across the mind...praying for salvation. i hope it finds you, soon. sometimes, there's saviour in the smallest of things. a red petal in a storm. rain.

****, what am i talking about?
