An Hour of Contemplation

Contributed by Mekare on Thursday, 7th October 2004 @ 09:15:11 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

It only takes one action,
only one simple word
to reconsider all that you have,
and all that it is worth.

Sad music floods my ears
in an instant of pain.
Tears fall,
but no one is to blame.

It is times like these
when i will often think.
I'll question it all
while tears are on the brink.

It is getting more difficult
to hold back this distress.
And it is getting harder
to accept what is best.

There is a distinct line
One I cannot possibly describe.
A line dividing emotions of love and indifference.
I don't know where I stand on either side.

So, in this moment,
I find myself still,
Repressing my cries
and gathering my will.

Do these sad songs
speak what I cannot say?
Or am I not in love with you,
and have realized that today?

These depressing songs reverbrate
throughout my ears.
They graze my heart,
and flee in tears.

It only takes one instant of anger,
and hours of shame
To really know
whether if it is all in vain.

The vanity of love.
An envious passion.
Transcendent deception.
True love is a fashion.

How do I love thee,
let me count the ways.
Or better yet do I love thee?
This I cannot say.

Very well written-
I like this poem-
Elton John said it best "SAD SONGS SAY SO MUCH".
Love will return.
