The Storm

I fell in love with an unreachable heart.
He wouldn't let me in, no matter how hard I pushed.
Sometimes I felt it, the heat.
The real him.
There were flickers; flashes that faded as soon as they appeared.
Like embers in a dying fire; they weren't strong enough to sustain us.
It was electric; like lightening.
So beautiful but short lived.
I wanted more; I wanted it all.
But I will gratefully take waht I was allowed.
A taste of the storm; a spark of the fire.
I will wait.
I will move on, but always look up, searching for the next storm.
Waiting for the next lightening strike.
