a fragile strand of thread

Contributed by xemptydecemberx on Thursday, 7th October 2004 @ 06:31:09 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Tear her apart shes done with life
Shes turned not to you but to this knife
She slices and slices till she can't feel
Till the blood is so thick it covers the steel
Normally this is the part where she puts it away
And cleans up her cuts so she will stay
But today is different, she wipes off the red
And drives it back inside of her pale arm instead
Over and over till her hands start to shake
Shes been here before but stopped for your sake
Instead she keeps cutting away at her soul
Till theres nothing left but a gaping hole
Where everything made sense and she could feel
When it didn't take forever for these cuts to heal
Though she never cut this much until now
And stopping isnt an option she doesn't know how
Shes to far in this and cant' turn around
Here, to cutting, is where she's bound
She can feel her veins become so mangled
And realizes now that her life is so tangled
The blade now is dull, barely has a tip
But theres no skin left to rip
Shes torn her self to shreds again
And this time its over, she can't mend
So whats the point of staying somewhere so dead?
When her world is held together on such a fragile strand of thread
