Joe's Harmonica
He sleeps now, so quiet
With a blanket over his bones
His tongue dry, and ulcerous
And shivering under the cold blows
His painful memories taunting him even in his dreams
He has no break from life it seems
Night rules over dawn
Though as Joey sees
The adults, fight and scream
And argue ‘till their lips bleed
He whistles the nights away
Unable to tell, from a day to a day
The tunes he blows
Makes him once happy and unafraid
Keep strong, he plays
Keep strong o' Joe
The music dies... when he leaves the room
When luck and fate draw the final card
The colour will fade... when he leaves the room
