Daddy's An Addict

Contributed by screwup on Wednesday, 6th October 2004 @ 06:18:40 AM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

when will you realize
that your daughter's in trouble
that she cannot heal
more importantly
she cannot feel
will you ever stop
taring your life apart
you've already lost sixteen years
and have broken my heart
stop drinking your life down the drain
you're not the only one in pain
stop making promises you'll never keep
these cuts of mine
they run too deep
you taught me drugs were the way to go
I thought of that when my life hit an all time low
daddy, why do you hit me
I'm dying can't you see
I'm crying now cause I can't convince you to stop
please... don't smoke your pot
I don't ever feel like talking to you again
because of the pain and anger within
notice me, your only daughter
you can't, because you're an addict father

A very emotional poem, and written so well, It took strength to post something so sensitive, and personal, Though my father wasnt a user, he was a beater, and dam did I get bounced around abit, though now things are different, I think maybe I just pushed all the wrong buttons, I really hope your father opens his eyes for once and see's the pain and emotional damage he is doing...I hope you find the freedom you seek, and love missing from your life.
Take care always and forever

I still don't understand y we hurt each other as we do... I don't understand how anyone can do things like this... especially a father to his daughter...
But I really have no answers,,, to the these questions... the only hing I can think of is tha I wish I could hold u and take u away from all the pain in ur life... but I can't... and that hurts... as much or more as reading this poem...
love ya...
