Divorced At Last

Contributed by chrissylee on Tuesday, 5th October 2004 @ 10:23:36 PM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

Its been a long struggle,
Though finally the end has come,
we had some good times,
Followed by heaps of rain.

You crossed the last barrier,
When you started to lie,
Telling me there was no other,
Thats when I started bidding you goodbye.

In the beginning you captured my heart,
I remember the time,
You stopped at a bakery,
I asked if you wanted some of my cream bun,
You said yes and instead of just handing it to you,
I creamed you in the face.

We had some good times,
In the very beginning,
Times wore on,
I gave to you a son,
Even though before hand you denied you wanted one.

Once we were married things started to change,
You started to control me,
I had no gains,
You took advantage of me,
Every which way,
I paid all the bills,
There was no sharing anything,
It was left all up to me.

Well now today it has finally become official,
Today in court are marraige is now,
Void and null,
One more month and i have the papers in my hand,
I'll do what ever i want from here on end,
Hooray for this day free at last,
Free to be me and never be lied to again.
