the sorrow placed within...

Contributed by poemwritingdude on Tuesday, 5th October 2004 @ 10:16:12 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Do you have any sorrow?
or are you cold and heartless?
because I know I am,
and I'd like to make a turn around.
Please hold my hand along the way,
I'm afraid of the mistakes I might make again...

Go ahead,
eat away at my happiness
so you can sleep at night,
because I know I can't,
and I hope you choke on my desire for you to
disappear...

Love is for the hopeful,
Hope is for the dreamers,
I'm no lover,
and I'm no dreamer, babe,
I'm just lookin for a hug
when I'm surrounded by cold-hearted statues...

Please read these lines and realize
love will never last,
everybody dies,
and we all live in the past...

Everybody jump in the Pool of Love!
I'll be your lifeguard.
I'll teach you how to swim.
I'll save you if you're drowning.
But I'm sick of trying to swim,
and I'm wearing too much sunscreen,
wouldn't wanna get burned...

The Hero saves the day,
but no one is watching,
He walks the right way with good intentions,
down the lonely path to Nowhere,
but stand up straight,
better look good for the cameras...

Now can you see the Hero?
long gone with no coming back.
Can you see him now?

Lay across the rooftop,
sprawled and forgotten,
all that He had,
lost in the darkness of the night...

Lay across the pavement,
sprawled and forgotten,
surrounded by those who don't care...

Lay across the soft ground,
sprawled and forgotten,
buried in the ashes of the hope He once had......

Awesome poem, enjoyed the style in which you portrayed the story within the overall poem.
