The Necklace

Contributed by ShadowsCloud on Wednesday, 13th November 2002 @ 03:30:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

I found the necklace today
The one you gave me for my 16th birthday
The necklace brought back memories of our love
For a long time these memories I've not thought of

The necklace simbolizes the love we had
How was I to know everything would go bad
Just a few months later you left me
I cried day and night, asking how could he

The necklace represented our relationship
I thought it was part of your courtship
And when you left
It represented my heart's theft

The necklace was all I had left of you
But just looking at it hurt my heart too
So I tucked it away, hoping to see it no more
For those feeling of you I no longer wanted to explore

The necklace probably should be thrown away
But the love I still hold for you, I can't betray
So gently I place it back where it was found
My attachment to it is so very compound

The necklace, I'm able to get rid of, never
I'll have it with me now and forever
Just like I'll never stop loving you
Letting go of a first love is so hard to do

I found the necklace today
The one you gave me for my 16th birthday
The necklace represents the love we shared for so long
To you a piece of my heart will always belong

This is beautiful Candice,
It reminds me of a christmas card a girl in school gave me in 1986!
It has her writing on it, so that is enough for me to keep it always.
She never knew I had feelings for her, but I loved and now love the memory of her from very deep within me. The only other woman who's had me so in love with them is my last girlfriend. And all I have left of her is a stuffed cudly toy dog she called Plato, it's sitting on top of my t.v looking at me now!
No phot's or anything else! How sad!! But I think it's good to keep something to just remind us of our lessons in life from time to time!

With love
Dean:-)

Dean, That is so sweet. I have a rather large stuffed animal collection, and most of those stuffed animal were given to me by someone special (most of them were boys). I also have quite a bit of jewlery given to me by boyfriends. And a few other things given to me by the special people in my life past and present. I very rarely throw anything away. I have a box of stuff for each one of my old boyfriends, I have kept everything they have ever given. All this stuff reminds me of the lessons I've learned from each one of my boyfriends.
