Mum, Dad why didn't you love me?

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Mum, Dad why didn’t you love me?
I was an innocent baby couldn’t you see?
Left before birth by you my loving Dad,
By rights you’re the one who should feel bad.

Mum why did you fail to notice I exist?
I was a crying, distressed baby how could you miss?
For hour after hour you left my sodden in my cot,
Left me there maybe hoping I would rot.

You both brought a life into this world,
You both gave up on your little girl,
Well look at you now one unknown one dead,
You have made it so now lie in your beds.

You both filled me with so much hate,
Thanks a lot for making me feel so ***** great,
Neither of you have been here to witness the mess,
Was caring for your child just too much stress?

I was just a terrible & inconvenient mistake,
You couldn’t show love even for your baby’s sake,
Now I have grown up & now I do understand,
I might have your name ,but I am not of your brand.

I have a heart & I know how to use it,
In both your chests you had a bottomless pit,
So thanks Mum & thanks Dad,
You’re the worst parents anyone could have ever had.

Great Job, I am so glad a Great Poet can open their heart and create such an emotional poem for the readers to view and in some cases relate. Your works always pull me right in just as a magnet. You are awesome and I am your reading fan. MickeyPigKnuckles :o)

I think it's amazing that you have the courage to put poems as deeply personal as these on this site... Keep up the good work.

This renders a deep ache in my heart that you had to know such pain. Your strength, probably gleaned from you adoptive parents love, has gotten you past the worst of it I think. You are now realizing and accepting that is was not your guilt to bear, it was theirs. They were incapable of human love. Krissy, you are overflowing with it.

Much love,
Rita
