Lord Buddha, the light of Asia.......

Contributed by ravisada on Tuesday, 5th October 2004 @ 07:45:48 AM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

Lord Buddha was a son of King Suddhodana of the Gautama in India
He carried his name as Siddhartha during his childhood
He become a Buddha after found enlightment under the Bodhi tree
where he went in deep contemplation of the Dharma, residing
in the perfect peace of nirvana
Lord Buddha died 2500 years ago but his teaching
of love and wisdom are still very much alive.
Lord Buddha was divine power of all wisdom
and truth who held love in this universe with faith
Whoever follows his teaching become free from selfishness,
hatred and greed.
Also, their heart gets purified with all his preachings
Lord Buddha opposed animal sacrifice and asked his followers
to stop cruelity and extend kindness to all living things.
He also asked his followers to take care of all the sick people
According to Hinduism he was known true reincarnation of Lord Vishnu
Let us spread his divine teaching and make this world peaceful
Because Lord Buddha is the light that illuminates always

I love Buddhism, hence the screen name zenmind. Buddha also said, "Be a lamp unto yourself" Everyone is Buddha, at our most fundamental being. Buddha realized that, and so he is a great example that we can all realize that too. Jesus Christ is the same example. He is one with God, the son of God, just as we are. When we experience this reality, of being one with God, or being Buddha, then there is no longer an "I" to experience it. Everything is one. To talk about myself, I have to talk about yourself, because in order for there to be a me, there has to be a you, so I can see me, distinct from everyone else. But in reality here is no this thing or that thing, there is no me or you because everything is one. Enlightenment is the sudden experience of reality, beyond subject and object conciousness.....Anyway, I could talk about Buddhism forever, but everything I could say would be a lie. hahha, now that's some zen for ya.

Be True,
zenmind
