Rain-kissed roads

Looking out of the window,
to wet roads shining under the street-lights...
brought these lines to me.
Rain-kissed roads whisper to my feet,
A blue vapour of reflections rising,
Lights falling, losing themselves in…
The shapeless mirth of laughing streams.
Rain-kissed roads and palms of clouds,
Both unlocking a treasure-chest of dreams,
Long forgotten mysteries, faded music,
Infused with new hues- bright, undimmed.
Rain-kissed roads, they shimmer with me,
Shining their tears in the darkened gleam,
Burning the edges of my hands when,
I reach to touch their visions unseen.
Rain-kissed roads, roads that sing…
All my half-sung songs with me,
And all the far horizons they seek,
Lie here in my million worlds within.
Rain-kissed road will still follow me,
Long after the sun steals their sheen.
Bringers of stars from distant skies-
I’ll walk with them, undisguised.

I'm speechless . .
this is overwhelmingly beautiful. It makes me want to go and dance in the rain for eternity and experience both nostalgia and wonderment.
It's perfect.

Written with such tenderness and creativity, you have bought beauty to the shimmering rain drops, and marble reflections from the wet, so beautifully written and thank you so much for sharing such an awsome poem. |

Magnificient! Magical and breathtaking.
Its a toss between wishing I was four and had yellow galoshes, umbrella and raincoat while dashing into puddles as the sun plays hide and seek or wishing for a nice rain kissed road today.
Very very well done.

Wet roads always tried to tell me something, but I never knew what. Well captured.
Take care.
